Please join us THIS FRIDAY, Oct. 25th for Bartow Collaborative. Coffee and Networking will begin @ 8:15 and the meeting will follow promptly @8:30. The meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Cartersville First Presbyterian Church on Main Street. You may enter through the back of the church. This month, Bartow County Department of Family and Children Services will be sharing information about Foster and Adoption. There will also be time for partners to share what’s going on in their agencies. Please print and review the minutes and Strategy Team Updates from last month. Salvation Army

Bartow county residents in need of Christmas Assistance may register their children at on October 24-25, 2013 from 9am to 12noon. Registration will be at Salvation Army, 16 Felton Place in Cartersville. Each family seeking assistance must apply in person in their county
of residence and must bring a valid photo I.D, two forms of current, valid identification for each parent/guardian AND child, proof of residence, proof of need or proof of monthly expenses and all income sources. Bartow Christmas Coalition
Bartow Christmas is a community project aiming to help needy Bartow residents during the Holiday Season. Individuals who need assistance are required to sign up on November 8th, 2013 from 9am-7pm @ Liberty Square Church. Each applicant is required to provide the following information: 1. Driver’s license or picture ID of person applying as head of household. 2. Utility bill, lease or other documentation verifying your street address. (NO PO boxes are accepted) 3. Social Security card of everyone in the home, or tax return with Social Security numbers.4. Proof of household income. For more information call 770-386-3399.

Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter
Boot Kick’n Harvest Hustle 5K Run for the Shelter will be held Saturday October 26th at 8:00 am. Same-day registration begins at 7:00 am. Buckaroo 1 Mile fun run/walk begins at 8:10 am Registration and race begins in the Tabernacle Parking Lot. Participation Fee is $25 for the first participant & $20 for each additional team member (includes a Free Tee Shirt). Buckaroo 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Participation Fee is$15.00 (no shirts for 1 mile)

New Beginnings Food Outreach
(new) Community In Action Day will be held Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 10am – 8pm at New Beginnings Food Outreach – 7034 Glad Road in Acworth. Sponsored by New Beginnings, Son-Shine Baptist Church and Sufficient Grace Gospel Singers, there will be all day gospel singing, free dinner, children’s inflatable’s, face painting and giveaways, a car/motorcycle show, free safety presentations by Bartow County Fire Department, Bartow County DARE Team and lots of community resources. The Charity Sale is a private, four-hour sale dedicated to supporting local non-profit organizations. This year’s Belk Charity Day will be Saturday, November 9th from 6:30 – 10:00 am. If your organization is participating, please let Bartow Collaborative know who to contact for tickets.

Bartow Health Access
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bartow Health Access will be offering free breast cancer screenings and mammograms now through November 14th. On site breast screenings/consultation and mammogram vouchers are available by appointment only for women who are currently uninsured, enrolled in Medicaid or Medicare and are 35 and over. The 7th Annual Domestic Violence Conference will be held Friday, October 25th from 8am-4:15 pm @ Gignilliat Memorial Hall, Dalton State College. The conference provides information and training to professionals, community organizations, faith communities, and families in order to increase understanding, dispel myths, and assist attendees in effectively identifying/responding to domestic violence.
