Please note the change in the next Bartow Collaborative Meeting. Due to the holidays, we will be combining the Nov/Dec. meeting. The next Bartow Collaborative meeting will be Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Coffee and Networking begin @ 8:15 and the meeting will follow promptly @ 8:30. The meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Cartersville First Presbyterian Church on Main Street.

Minutes from Oct. 25th meeting will be available next week.

PARTNER EVENTS…..

(new) Bartow County Recreation Department
The Rec. Dept. will host a Fall Festival on Thursday, Oct. 31st from 6PM-8:30PM, on the Hamilton Crossing Football Field! Local church groups will provide games, candy, and food! Hotdogs, chips, drinks, for everyone! Inflatables, DJ, and costumes.

New Beginnings Food Outreach
Community In Action Day will be held Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 10am – 8pm at New Beginnings Food Outreach – 7034 Glad Road in Acworth. The day will be filled with gospel singing, children’s inflatable’s, face painting, giveaways, a car/motorcycle show, free safety presentations, and free dinner. Bartow Christmas Coalition
Bartow Christmas is a community project aiming to help needy Bartow residents during the Holiday Season. Individuals who need assistance are required to sign up on November 8th, 2013 from 9am-7pm @ Liberty Square Church. For more details on eligibility contact 770-386-3399.

(new) Community Can-A-Thon
Please come out to the Community Can-A-Thon and Street Dance on Nov. 12th from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm at the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce. Donations are being accepted at the Chamber, WBHF AM 1450, The Daily Tribune News, Walmart and McStatt’s Printing.

United Way of Bartow County

(new) Cartersville Goodwill Career Center
The Career Center will be hosting a Job Fair on Thursday, November 14th from 10:00am – 12:30pm. If you are interested in attending as employer or community resource, you may download the registration and return by Nov 8th. Bartow Health Access
Bartow Health Access will be offering free breast cancer screenings and mammograms now through November 14th. On site breast screenings/consultation and mammogram vouchers are available by appointment only for women who are currently uninsured, enrolled in Medicaid or Medicare and are 35 and over. WORKSHOPS/CONFERENCES…

(new) The Cartersville-Bartow County HR Academy presents a two-day training Nov. 7th and 8th. Topics include “Wages and Compliance, Social Media, Safety, Confidentiality and Performance.” Registration for Chamber Members is $35 per day/$50 for 2 days or Nonmembers $70 per day/$100 for 2 days. (new) National Alliance of Mental Illness – Rome Chapter will sponsor a Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, Nov. 13th from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm @ the Cartersville Goodwill Career Center on Joe Frank Harris Parkway.
