(new) MUST Ministries
Through their Alliance with OSHA and partnership with Goodwill of North Georgia, MUST Ministries is providing a 10-Hour General Industry certification and 4 hour Forklift Safety Training at no charge. Participants who score a 70 or above on the final test will also receive a pair of safety shoes required to work in most manufacturing and warehousing operations. To participate, you must complete a registration form, attend a 4 hour class focusing on skills for finding and returning to work, provide a picture ID and social security card, and take a 10 minute interest inventory. The 4 hour Back to Work class will be held in Cartersville at Goodwill of North Georgia on January 6 and 13 (10am-2pm) or you can attend at any MUST Ministries office. (new) Goodwill Career Center
The Annual New Job Fair Recruitment Event for employers across all North Georgia will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2014 @ the Cartersville Goodwill Career Center from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm. Goodwill will be hosting this large event and anticipate a large number of job seekers to attend.
There is space available for up to 18 employers/agencies. Participating employers will be provided one six foot table along with two chairs and lunch will be served following the Job Fair. Participants are welcome to bring supplemental signage, displays, application material, supplies, and other items you may require at your station.
Volunteers will be on hand to assist you as needed and candidates with their resume and online application. The Library is looking for volunteers to help with PreK Book Buddies. The program is designed to promote pre-literacy skills and inspire PreK-aged children through books. At
each monthly meeting, the PreK Buddies will be read to by a teen volunteer, or Big Buddy.
Each PreK Buddy will also receive a book of their choice to take home each time they
attend. The initial program will feature four sessions at the Cartersville library on the last
Thursday at each month, January 30th, February 27th, March 27th and April
24th from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. This is a collaborative partnership with both the Cartersville City
and Bartow County School systems through an Early Childhood grant from Target. For

(new) Council on Volunteer Administrators of Rome invites you to a workshop to assist
organizations that use volunteers. RESOLUTION SOLUTIONS…Equipping Your
Organization for the New Year will be offered on January 10th from 12:30 – 5:00 @ Berry

(new) Stanford CDSMP (Chronic Disease Self-Management Program) Free Lay Leader
Training will be held on 4 days: January 16-17, 2014 and January 27-28, 2014 @ The
University of Georgia Houston County Office in Perry, Ga. The training is ideal for
professionals including: community health educators, health ministry or wellness staff,
members of faith-based organizations or community-based organizations, senior residential
housing management/staff as well as nursing students and allied health students. To
