A FEW SPOTS ARE LEFT….
Don’t wait until a crisis erupts to address areas that need attention. The Georgia Center for
Nonprofits, Nonprofit University will offer Accounting For Your Mission Friday,
November 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm at the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of
Commerce AB Community Room, 122 W Main St, Cartersville, GA 30120. Registration is
$10 for staff, board members, and volunteers of local nonprofits, social services, churches,
government agencies and businesses in Bartow County and $25 for those serving outside
Bartow County. Registration will be processed through Eventbrite. In order not to incur fees,

A variety of support groups are offered in Northwest Georgia. A Family Caregiver
Workshop will be offered in Rome on Thursday, November 6th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Cartersville Downtown Development
First Friday Downtown will be THIS FRIDAY, November 7th
. The Downtown Development
Authority would like to spotlight nonprofits. At no charge, interested nonprofits may set up a
table in Friendship Plaza and highlight their services, as well as sale/promote any items,
activities or needs. The event will be held from 5-8. For more information, contact Tara

NW Georgia Public Health
You’re invited to Let’s Talk, a Mother-Daughter Dinner set for November 13th from 6-
8pm at Rollins Child Development Center. This is a special event to both celebrate and
educate mothers or other female caregivers and daughters (grades 6th – 8th) about taking
care of their health. The Harbin Clinic Women’s Center/Etowah Valley OB-GYN staff will
provide information about preventing cervical cancers and breast health. The presentation
was developed by the American Cancer Society. Puberty topics will be covered as well, and
there will be time for questions and answers. Dinner will be served following the
presentation to celebrate the new knowledge and communication and goody bags will be

Nov. 1st. Individuals can schedule a heating assistance appointment online at

3, 2014. The General Public can schedule an appointment via the website or by calling the
appointment line beginning Dec. 1st
. An appointment for heating assistance does not

The 6
th Annual Toyo Tire Bartow Community Christmas Luncheon will be held
Saturday, Dec. 20th from 11:00am – 2:00pm at the Cartersville Civic Center, 435 W Main
St in Cartersville. Volunteers are needed to serve the day of the event as well as to provide
homemade fresh desserts, brownies, cakes, pies, cookies, or breads. If you are interested
