Important dates, happenings and events around Bartow County Georgia

REMINDER… (new) The next meeting for Bartow Collaborative will be Friday, January 23rd at First Presbyterian Church in Cartersville. Networking will begin at 8:15 am followed by PARTNER ENGAGEMENT…it takes all kinds at 8:30 am in Fellowship Hall. Bring your brochures and business cards!
Today’s funders are looking for nonprofits to collaborate and impact their community capacity far more than they can do individually. By combining efforts, sharing resources, reducing duplication of services and reducing competition in fundraising, organizations can create a positive, supportive network that helps them collectively leverage resources in a consolidated fashion, thus strengthening the collective impact.
While in theory this sounds great, in reality it can be quite difficult to achieve. How do you build and encourage true partnerships and avoid those that simply want to “jump on the bandwagon” or (even worse) steal your ideas? How do you ensure that collaboration will not only have a positive impact on your organization and its mission, but also increase the impact you can have on the community you serve? How can you use a grant proposal, as an organizing tool with the explicit intent to move forward with or without the grant?
