GRANT COLLABORATION TRAINING…Registration Now Open…
Today’s funders are looking for nonprofits to collaborate and impact their community capacity far more than they can do individually. By combining efforts, sharing resources, reducing duplication of services and reducing competition in fundraising, organizations can create a positive, supportive network that helps them collectively leverage resources in a consolidated fashion, thus strengthening the collective impact.

The Goodwill Career Center will host a Job Fair on Thursday, February 12th from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm. The event is FREE! There will be space available for up to 18 employers/agencies. You are welcome to bring supplemental signage, displays, application material, supplies, and other items you may require at your station. Participating employers will be provided one six foot table along with two chairs. Lunch will be served following the Job Fair.
Volunteers will be on hand to assist you as needed and candidates with their resume and online application. Addiction Solutions
Evidence-Based Training Series will be offered Donna Johnson, an internationally recognized trainer in the addiction and criminal justice fields. The series offers professionals the most recent treatment practices that are cost-effective. Addiction, Personality Disorders, Trauma will be offered Monday, Feb 23rd, 2015 from 9:00 to 4:30 @ View Point Health Systems 175 Gwinnett Drive Lawrenceville, Ga. 6 CE Hours $69. This training will provide information on new trends in treatment of these disorders and how treatment professionals can manage these difficult behaviors. This training will discuss models used to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes utilizing Seeking Safety, CBT models, DBT and Motivational Interviewing in a multi-systemic approach and how new medications can also assist treatment.
Evidence-Based Practices : The Neurobiology and Pharmacology of Addiction will be held Saturday Feb. 28th, 2015 from 9:00 to 4:30 @ Cartersville Civic Center, 435 West Main Street Cartersville, Ga. 6 CE Hours $69. This training provides participants and opportunity to look at the process of changing brain chemistry to enable them to adapt appropriate treatment protocols that match changing brain chemistry. It will also show the process of triggers and cravings and how those affect the process of recovery and relapse. This training will specifically focus on assessment tools which are used for various populations such as addiction, criminal justice, adolescent and co-occurring and how those needs differ. This will include criteria for evaluation, significance of diagnostic and lab reports, stages of withdrawal, utilizing stages of change and determining severity of patients.
Legal and Ethical Issues In Addiction Treatment will be held on Friday, March 27th, 2015 from 9:00 to 4:30 @ View Point Health Systems 175 Gwinnett Drive Lawrenceville, Ga. 6 CE Hours $69. This training will provide detailed information on how professionals, community service workers, peer specialist and case managers can navigate these complicated legal issues. We will review the differences in HIPAA laws and CFR 42 and the requirements that must be followed by all professionals. We will also discuss specific issues around Duty to Warn, ethics and how professionals must respond to ethical challenges in a growing and ever changing system that now includes electronic treatment issues. The training will also provide information on requirements and new topics of information regarding treatment and electronic therapy and support.
