Collaborative will NOT meet in July and will resume Friday, August 28th at the First

Bartow Give a Kid A Chance will be held Saturday, July 25th at the Bartow County
College And Career Academy-738 Grassdale Road in Cartersville. Registration is now open

Patrons of The Bartow County Library System can now access their favorite digital
magazines using Flipster™ from EBSCO Information Services. Flipster is a nextgeneration
digital magazine service that allows people to browse the latest issues of high
quality digital versions of popular magazines, courtesy of the library. The Bartow County
Library System has both Flipster and hardcopy versions of magazines like Consumer
Reports, Southern Living, Field & Stream and so much more. Patrons now have the option
of accessing the content at the library or remotely. Magazines may be viewed on your

The Center will host a Multi-Employer Job Fair July 9, 2015 from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public the focus of the hiring event is to bring employers
and job seekers together to discuss present or future jobs opportunities available. Although
it is our desire to accommodate every invited guest, space limitations dictate that

Neighborhoods are the building blocks of the region, shaping its character and affecting the
lives of its residents. It is where “community” begins. To support and further this thinking,
the Community Foundation is hosting Neighborhood Summit on Sept. 26th. This day-long
event designed for residents from 10 metro Atlanta counties to connect and discuss a
common, inclusive agenda for strengthening the region. The Neighborhood Summit
provides opportunities for nonprofits, civic organizations and community partners to meet,
exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. Participants attend workshops,

Advocates for Children
Advocates is preparing to launch its newest program, Parents as Teachers, an intensive
and friendly in-home parent education program. The organization will be hiring individuals
to be become certified Parents as Teachers Parent Educators. Interested individuals should
have a Bachelor or four-year degree in early childhood education, social work health,
psychology or related degree. Those with two year degree or 60 college hours in early

Healthcare Staffing
Positions available in Cobb County include RN – Labor and Delivery 7a-7p for 36/hour work
week; RN – Cardiac Operating Room: must be trained in coronary artery bypass grafting,
valve repair and replacement surgery, aortic arch surgery for 32-40/hr work week;
Floating RN’s between different departments for 36/hr work week; Cardiac Operating Room
Nurse – combo shift- 6:30a-3p and 10:30a-7p for 32-40/hr work week. All RN’s that are
needed are located at the same Hospital. RN’s must have a Georgia State Nursing License.

Understanding Drugs of Abuse will be held Saturday July 25th, 2015 9:00 to 4:30.This
session will provide education and understanding of drugs of choice typically used by both
adults and adolescents. This understanding will help in providing treatment interventions to
meet the needs of the client/patient and reduce the risk of relapse potential. Additional
information will be provided on Prescription drugs and management of pain in treatment.
Registration is $69 and will provide 6 CE Hours. Training Location will be at Cartersville

nonprofits, social service agencies, faith based organizations, local, state and federal
entities, businesses, support groups, and local programs and projects which support issues
pertaining to children and families in our community. Agencies and individuals may
submit announcements or events to be included in weekly eblast or social media
