Girls Run the World Empowerment Seminar will be held Saturday May 3, 2014 from 9am-2pm @ the Matthew Hill Center-129 ½ Aubrey St. in Cartersville, GA. The seminar is designed to bridge the gap with young ladies ages 10-19 to help them find their purpose, know their worth, and reach their highest potential. Ray Southern Memorial Cleanup & ATCO Festival
This year’ Ray Southern Memorial Cleanup & ATCO Festival will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014. Organized by Keep Bartow Beautiful and the City of Cartersville, volunteers are encouraged to help in this community-wide family event. There are opportunities for agencies, civic organizations, church groups and youth to assist with clean up in and around the ATCO mill village AND provide festival games and informational booths/tables. The Festival would like organizations and groups to offer games such as bean bag toss, fish-for-prizes, and football-thru-the-tire with small prizes (snacks or otherwise) for ATCO residents. Volunteers and residents will gather in the parking lot directly in front of ATCO Baptist Church at the corner of Goodyear Ave and Parameter Street @ 11:00 am. Footprints of the Heart
Footprints of the Heart will be hosting a 5K/1 Mile Pregnancy and Infant Loss Memorial Balloon Release on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Euharlee. The race will begin and end in Frankie Harris Park. Early registration for ages 13 and over: $25 till May 7th. After May 7th, registration is $30. “Dementia and the Roadblock of Denial; When They Don’t Want Help and Things are Getting Worse” will be held March 26, 2014 @ Historic Academy of Medicine at Georgia Tech – 875 West Peachtree St N.W. in Atlanta. This 1 day intensive coaching class will help participants develop the art of working with those who don’t want, but need help. This workshop is designed for families, counselors, and other health care professionals who work with people exhibiting signs of dementia, but think they are fine.
“Digging into Dining and Dementia; Living to Eat & Eating to Live” will be held April 4 and April 5, 2014 (Register for one or both events. The event will be held @ Lenbrook Retirement Community – 3747 Peachtree Road NE in Atlanta.
