Help support the community by donating non-perishable food items and school supplies to United Way of Bartow County. Drop off locations are at WBHF Radio in Downtown Cartersville and Century Bank on Stonewall Street Starting July 1st.  For more information please call United Way at 770-386-1677.

NEED TO KNOW… Bartow Give a Kid A Chance Bartow Give a Kid a Chance is a one day event when Bartow County children in need can receive a new backpack, school supplies, a T-shirt, haircut, and health screenings – all free of charge, thanks to our generous sponsors and community, This year’s event will be held Saturday, July 25 th at the Bartow County College And Career Academy-738 Grassdale Road in Cartersville. Registration is now open @ http://www.bartowgiveakidachance.com. Deadline for student registration is July 10th. Space is limited. Blood Assurance Our community is experiencing shortages of both O Positive and O Negative blood types. Currently, there is a two day supply of inventory. O negative is the universal blood type and can be used by anyone in a trauma situation. O positive is the most common blood type and has a high usage. Your one donation can save three lives. To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. The process usually takes about 30 minutes and includes a complimentary snack. The Cartersville Center is located at 921 B Joe Frank Harris Parkway SE next to the Goodwill. JOB POSTINGS Highland Rivers Highland Rivers is hiring two full time Social Service Providers and two Social Service Techs for Clubhouse setting in Cartersville. Social Service Providers must have an Associate License in the state of Georgia. (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT); prefer bi-lingual and must have at least 6 months working with Child and Adolescence. Social Service Providers will maintain working relationship with school personnel, assist in the identification and development of evidence- based curriculum for providing individual and group services in the Clubhouse setting, provide assessments, individual, family, crisis and group counseling for consumers according to their treatment plans, and manage a caseload by ensuring all services are authorized, chart paperwork is complete and current and consumer charts are closed accordingly.
