Bartow Collaborative serves as a communication hub for community partners such as nonprofits, social service agencies, faith based organizations, local, state and federal entities, businesses, support groups, and local programs and projects which support issues pertaining to children and families in our community. Agencies and individuals may submit announcements or events to be included in weekly eblast or social media avenues. Content may be edited as needed. Programs sponsored, hosted or facilitated by Bartow Collaborative will be specifically noted.

Foundations of Dementia Care Training for Professional Caregivers will be held January 7th & 8th , 2015 @ Rome-Floyd County Library.
Living With Alzheimer’s Disease (an 8-week series) will begin on Tuesdays at 10:00 starting February 3. These programs will be held at the Alzheimer’s Association (922 East Morris Street, Dalton). February 3, 10, & 17 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Early stage (for those in the early stage of the disease as well as their care partners). February 24, March 3 & 10 @ 10:00 am -12:00 pm: Middle stage (for caregivers of people in the middle stage of Alzheimer’s). March 17 & 24 @ 10:00 am -12:00 pm: Late stage (for caregivers of those in the late stage of the disease).
Aging & Disability Resource Connection and the Alzheimer’s Association will offer their Annual Caregiver Conference on April 30, 2015. The deadline for sponsorship is March 16, 2015. The deadline to be an exhibitor is March 31, 2015 and the deadline for individual registration is April 15, 2015. Exhibitors are welcome to provide a door prize to be given away the day of the conference. Door prizes will be for family caregivers. In order to simplify the process, each exhibitor will handle the drawing for his/her door prize at his/her table.

MUST Ministries Housing Services are centralizing all requests for assistance to determine the housing needs in the communities served. The Louis B. Tonsmeire, Sr., Clinic introduces Dr. Alan Barnes providing Family Practice. The clinic is located at 31 Pointe North (across Tennessee Street from the movie theater)
in Cartersville. Hours of operation include Monday, 12pm-8pm, Tuesday, 9am-5pm and Wednesday, 12pm-8pm. $45 per visit, with a sliding fee scale based on income.
