United Way Turkey Trot and 5k The Turkey Trot and 5K will be held Saturday November 22nd, 2014 at 9 am. Walkers are Welcome! Jogging Strollers are Welcome! Start and Finish: Cartersville Soccer Complex (behind Cartersville Middle School), 152 Milner Road, Cartersville, GA 30120
Certified Course around Cartersville Middle School and Etowah River Walk. Entry Fee is $20 postmarked before Nov. 1, $25 after Nov. 1 (rain or shine (even if it is cold), non-refundable). All 5k participants will receive a long sleeve T-shirt. The overall male and female winners will receive trophies. Top finishers in each age group will receive a frozen turkey. The New Frontier of Bartow County will host their 14th Annual Feed the Community Dinner Saturday, November 22nd from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm @ the Cartersville Civic Center, 435 West Main Street. Free on-site services will include haircuts, legal aid, HIV awareness and testing, voter registration, winter coats, books, and toys. Nonprofits, Nonprofit University will offer Accounting For Your Mission Friday,
November 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm at the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of
Commerce AB Community Room, 122 W Main St, Cartersville, GA 30120. Registration is
$10 for staff, board members, and volunteers of local nonprofits, social services, churches,
government agencies and businesses in Bartow County and $25 for those serving outside

NW Georgia Public Health
You’re invited to Let’s Talk, a Mother-Daughter Dinner set for November 13th from 6-
8pm at Rollins Child Development Center. This is a special event to both celebrate and
educate mothers or other female caregivers and daughters (grades 6th – 8th) about taking
care of their health. The Harbin Clinic Women’s Center/Etowah Valley OB-GYN staff will
provide information about preventing cervical cancers and breast health. The presentation
was developed by the American Cancer Society. Puberty topics will be covered as well, and
there will be time for questions and answers. Dinner will be served following the
presentation to celebrate the new knowledge and communication and goody bags will be
